Biography It sounded like a revved up, smoking, sewing machine . . . on two wheels. That would describe my first dirt bike as I flew down one of Fort Wayne's busiest highways on my way home from my factory job. An orange and white blur flying through rush hour traffic, our destination: Home. Once I got off the main drag, I had to venture over a trail through the woods directly behind my house.
One afternoon, on my way through the woods, I saw some teenage girls around a makeshift campfire. Close by was a visible beer keg. I stopped briefly to find out what was up, when one of the girls asked me if I wanted to party! Taken back by her invitation, I shot back with this question . . . "What are we gonna do when the party's over?" She giggled and said, "The party's never over. There will always be sex, drugs, and booze. I'm gonna party all the way to hell." Speechless, I revved up the "one lunger" and headed for home with her words still echoing in my soul. After I climbed off the bike, I got down on my knees and asked God to give me a message for this generation. Thus, the song "It's Your Funeral" from the "4th Man in the Fire" CD was born. It is just one of many that reflect the path of life that I have journeyed. Nod Arvefel |
